MA reporter Ruken Demir taken into custody in İzmir

The Turkish regime’s crackdown against Kurdish journalists continues.
Mesopotamia Agency (MA) İzmir reporter Ruken Demir had her home in İzmir’s Konak district raided by the police at around 6 am this morning.
Demir was taken into custody in line with an arrest warrant, and handcuffed behind the back.
Police also seized Demir’s phone, computer and other technical equipment found at home.
The Kurdish journalist is not allowed access to lawyer due to a 24 hour restriction order.
