Protests against the closing of the Rojava-Shengal corridor

Shengal youth are protesting the closing of the Rojava-Shengal humanitarian corridor.

The Rojava-Shengal humanitarian corridor, opened during the 2014 ISIS attacks against Shengal, has been closed by Iraq on December 15. Following the closing of the humanitarian corridor which had been opened by the YPG-YPJ and Yazidi youth for vital needs and medical emergencies, Shengal youth set up tents along the border line and started a protest against the decision.

ACTIONS WILL CONTINUE

The youth continued their protest throughout the night despite the cold and rain. The protest will be taken over by the people of Shengal at noon.

The Duhoq road, under KDP control was closed for passage for the people of Shengal in 2017. The Duhoq-Shengal road was opened as the Rojava-Shengal humanitarian corridor was closed.
