4 guerrillas martyred during Turkish airstrikes on Medya Defense Zones

Four guerrillas from the HPG (People's Defense Forces) and YJA-Star (Free Women's Troops) were martyred during Turkish airstrikes on Medya Defense Zones on February 19-20.

HPG Press Office has announced that four guerrillas from the HPG (People's Defense Forces) and YJA-Star (Free Women's Troops) were martyred during Turkish airstrikes on Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory on February 19-20.

The statement recalled that Turkish aircraft carried out an intense bombardment targeting the areas of Şikefta Brîndara, Ciloyê Pıçuk, Kokerê, Çemço and Kani Sarkê in Zap region of Medya Defense Zones, Mervanıs and Dola Şive hamlets in Avashin region and the surroundings of the Sêgire village hill in Duhok's Amedia district on February 19-20.

As result of the bombardments, guerrillas Giyasettin Gür (Bawer Xebat) from Hakkari, Berzan İmdat (Firaz) from Van, Megrican Atsız (Helin) from Mardin and Torin Şevişoğlu (Raperin) from Şırnak lost their lives.

"They are the bravest and most beautiful examples of the generation that was born and raised in Kurdistan with the PKK struggle", said the HPG about the martyred guerrillas, and reiterated their promise to defend and be worthy of the memories and ideals of the fallen guerrillas with a spirit of self-sacrificial revenge.

HPG offered their condolences to the families of martyred guerrillas and to all the patriotic people of Kurdistan.
