Turkish state forces that continue to massacre Kurdish children across Kurdistan have murdered a child called Berfin in Kerboran yesterday.
Turkish state forces that continue to massacre Kurdish children across Kurdistan have murdered a child called Berfin in Kerboran yesterday.
Turkish military and police forces who carried out attacks with heavy weaponry against the areas of self-governance resistance for months last year, continue their siege in Mardin's Kerboran district, making it impossible to live in the district center.
Turkish security officers in armored vehicles often exceed the speed limit and kill civilians, and particularly threaten the lives of children. Primary school student 7-year-old Berfin Dilek was run over and savagely murdered by an armored vehicle in front of her school yesterday. The body of little Berfin, who died at the scene, was unrecognizable after the incident.
PEOPLE OF KERBORAN: THEY MASSACRE ON PURPOSE
Speaking after the murder of Berfin, residents of Kerboran, who asked to remain anonymous, pointed out an increasing terror of armored vehicles in the district for the last one month. Residents stressed that Turkish police speed up in the district center and side streets.
Accordingly, policemen driving armored vehicles particularly target children, as was the case of Berfin who was killed by an armored vehicle overspeeding in front of the school during the leave of students from class. “We will not accept this cruelty and massacre”, they said.
CALL FOR SENSITIVITY
Parents of Berfin, who were not able to identify their daughter because of the unrecognizable state of the body, are preparing to sue the officers responsible for the murder. Berfin’s parents say their daughter was massacred on purpose and called upon everyone to be sensitive on this issue.
TENS OF KURDISH CHILDREN HAVE BEEN KILLED
The massacres state forces carry out with armored vehicles constitute a separate category in the massacres perpetrated in the Kurdish region. Kurdish children are particularly targeted in these attacks and tens of children have been killed by state forces in this way so far.
