Body of British YPG fighter Ryan Lock, nom de guerre Berxwedan Givara, who fell in the Operation Wrath of Euphrates on 21 December, 2016, has been brought to Dêrik, and then to Sêmalka Border Gate today. Lock's body will be taken to Southern Kurdistan to be sent to his homeland, United Kingdom.

Hundreds from Dêrik and Girkê Legê gathered in front of the Dêrik Hospital to accompany the British fighter whose coffin was covered with a UK flag and flowers, carried on the shoulders of YPG fighters.

A military ceremony was held for Lock at the Sêmalka Border Gate with the participation of representatives of political parties and NGOs in addition to dozens of fighters from the YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units).

Speaking here, YPG General Command Member Mihyedîn Xîrkî stated the followings: "We bless the resistance of British martyr Berxwedan Givara for the families of all martyrs and the British people. Our martyr fell putting up a brave fight. The courageous and honorable resistance of the YPG has directed conscientious people from all around the world to join the YPG and the Revolution of Rojava."

Speaking after, Fatma Tahir, President of the Cizîrê Canton Council of Martyrs' Families, said: "Our revolution is a revolution of humanity that has revived the conscience of the entire world. Our revolution is at the same time a revolution of reality, for which reason people from all over the world are coming to Rojava to join this revolution."

Following the ceremony, participants of the ceremony bid farewell to the British YPG martyr to Bashurê (Southern) Kurdistan where it will be handed over to the British Consulate to be transferred to his homeland.
