The fire that broke out between Şemrex (Mazıdağı) and Xana Axpar (Çınar) districts of Amed on the night of 20 June, killed 15 people, and injured 74. In addition, more than 1500 small cattle died and more than 50 thousand decares of land were affected by the fire.

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır said they hear from everyone that DEDAŞ (Dicle Electricity Distribution Inc.) is responsible. "We also see it here. 50-year-old poles are used to supply electricity," Başarır said, adding that public prosecutors should conduct an objective investigation. Başarır stated that another important defect in the fire was the late intervention and said, "Because the intervention was late, so many people lost their lives, and the damage was so great. This issue also needs to be investigated."
CHP Malatya MP Veli Ağbaba said, "Those who do not provide maintenance are to blame."
MP Sezgin Tanrıkulu said, "It is devastating that people are still losing their lives due to preventable reasons. We will hold those responsible for this to account."
CHP Edirne MP Ahmet Baran Yazgan said, "Our citizens have no crime other than living here and being born here. If this is a crime, yes, we are guilty. We stand with our citizens."
