Footage from two guerrilla actions which killed 12 soldiers

12 soldiers of the Turkish army were killed in two separate actions of the guerrillas in Hakkari countryside.

Gerîla TV published footage from two actions carried out by guerrillas in the countryside of Hakkari province in Northern Kurdistan in July and August.

According to the statement of HPG (People’s Defense Forces) Press Office, guerrillas hit the Turkish soldiers stationed on Hill Leylek in Hakkari’s Şemdinli district at 15:20 on August 16 as part of the Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Initiative.

In the action, which was carried out to mark the anniversary of the August 15 Initiative, guerrillas infiltrated the positions of Turkish forces from two directions and put them under intense fire. One soldier was killed in this action and many others were wounded, while the involved guerrilla unit returned to their base safely.

At 05:30 on July 26, guerrillas ambushed a Turkish military unit responsible for maintaining the security of the road leading to hill Xeregol in Çukurca district of Hakkari. Effective strikes at close range from two directions left 11 soldiers dead and 2 others wounded. Guerrillas simultaneously targeted the positions and shelters of the Turkish forces on Hill Xeregol. The number of soldiers killed or wounded here couldn’t be clarified.
