French Communist Party condemns Turkish attack against Shengal

French Communist Party protested the Turkish state attack against Shengal and said the Erdoğan dictatorship aims to end the Kurdish people.

The French Communist Party issued a written statement about the new attack carried out by the  Turkish state against the Yazidi Kurds on August 15.

The statement recalled that Turkish fighter jets attacked people holding a memorial service for the victims of the ISIS massacre, and added that after international meetings he held, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan aimed to completely eradicate the Kurds.

The statement pointed out that Turkish soldiers entered and attacked Jarablus and Afrin illegally: “This region was also the place where survivors of Jihadist attacks sought refuge. Turkey is now targeting Iraqi Kurdistan. They are increasing their military bases and bombing civilians.”

The statement remarked that the French Communist Party condemns the attacks harshly and expressed solidarity with the Kurdish people and the Yazidi Kurds. It continued, saying that it is high time the international powers tell the Turkish state to stop their war against Kurds and pointed out international treaties. The statement also stressed that the war brings instability to the region.

The statement said Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel have decided to strengthen their economic relationship with the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan dictatorship that tramples human rights and concluded: “History will remember this deal.”
