The Press Centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG) has published the names of five guerrilla fighters who died on 29 May 2019 in an air raid of the Turkish army in the Xakurke region of Southern Kurdistan; Agir Bêrîtan, Azad Batman, Helbest Jiyan, Sarîna Sarya and Solîn Elbak.

In a statement on the loss of the fighters, the HPG reiterated the commitment, struggle and sacrifice of the martyrs and vowed to continue their fight until victory. HPG expressed their deepest sympathy to the relatives of the martyrs and the patriotic people of Kurdistan.
