HPG: Three Turkish soldiers killed in Iğdır

HPG-BIM reported continued actions by the guerrilla forces and attacks by the Turkish army in Kurdistan.

The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) released a statement announcing the details of actions carried out by guerrillas and attacks conducted by the Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

According to the statement, YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) and HPG (People’s Defense Forces) guerrillas carried out actions as part of the Revolutionary Victory Campaign ongoing in the Serhat region in northern Kurdistan.

Effective strikes by guerrillas left three soldiers of the Turkish army dead in the Korxan outposts in Kirê Kor area of Iğdır at 09:30 on December 18.

As part of the revolutionary campaign, guerrillas carried out a sabotage action against a Turkish military convoy of armored vehicles heading to the Aydınlar outpost in Iğdır’s Aralık district on December 16. While an armored vehicle was directly hit and destroyed, the number of casualties couldn’t be clarified.

After retrieving the casualties from the scene, the Turkish army started an operation which was withdrawn without achieving any results on December 18.

AIR RAIDS ON HEFTANIN

HPG-BIM reported continued air raids by the Turkish army against guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq.

Accordingly, Turkish fighter jets bombed the area of Dola Shivemeze in Heftanin region on December 16 night. The bombardment did not result in any loss in guerrilla ranks.
