KCK: Don't leave the streets until lawyers have gone to Imrali!

KCK: Lawyers of Leader Apo should go to Imralı immediately and tell what happen to our people and the public. Our people, friends, women and youth should stay on the streets until lawyers and families go to Imralı and make a statement.

KCK Executive Council co-presidency issed a written statement about the forest fire which broke out in Imralı. The KCK statement said: "Turkish government officials said that a forest fire broke out in the island of Imrali, where Leader Apo has been held hostage under absolute isolation for 21 years.

Turkey is experiencing a very critical development and in the region, and Kurds suffered from a worsening of its genocidal policies. It is a process of collapsing for the AKP-MHP fascist power. Everyone has a deep suspicion about the fire in Imrali and how it happened. It is attention grabbing that the fire broke out on a winter day in a high security zone and at a very delicate time for Turkey."

Turkey and International System are responsible for everything happening in Imrali

The statement added: "Every event and any kind of approach in the place where Leader Apo is held hostage has a political meaning. The Turkish state and the international system are responsible for everything that happened and will happen in Imralı. The Imralı system is also a system established and controlled by international powers. In particular, Turkey is a member of the Council of Europe and the Council of Europe has a great responsibility through the CPT."

Everyone should stand up

The statement continued: "Our movement and our people do not believe in the statements of this fascist government, which is the Kurdish enemy. The lawyers of Leader Apo should go to Imralı immediately and explain what hapened to our people and the public. Our people, friends, women and youth should remain on the streets until lawyers and families go to Imralı and make a statement. Our people should show their reaction in the strongest way and fill the squares in the four parts of Kurdistan and abroad. Our people should mobilize everywhere."

The statement ended with the following remarks: "On this basis, we call on our people, democracy forces, all anti-fascist sections, women and youth to stand up against isolation and to show their reaction in the most powerful way! Once again we see that if the isolation system in Imrali is not lifted and the right to safety, health and freedom of Leader Apo are not granted, freedom, democracy, justice and peace in Turkey will not come."
