Residents of Qandil's Meredo town protested the February 15 1999's international conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan today.
People protested the international conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan in Qandil's Meredo town. Despite the heavy rain, tens of women, children and young people gathered to condemn the conspiracy and demand freedom for the Kurdish leader.
Carrying posters of Öcalan and banners condemning the conspiracy, protestors made a press statement after their march. Remarking that the conspiracy against Öcalan aimed to silence Kurdish people, demonstrators emphasized that the Kurds have foiled the conspiracy through the resistance they have mounted since. Protestors emphasized the importance of Öcalan's freedom and said "Kurdish people will liberate Öcalan just like how they defeated the conspiracy through their resistance."
The press statement ended as protestors chanted "Long Live Leader Apo" and "No Life Without the Leader."
