The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) was founded 41 years ago. The founding congress took place on 27 November 1978 in the village of Fis in Amed.

Guerrillas of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) and Free Women’s Troops (YJA-Star) celebrated the founding anniversary of the PKK in Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq.
