Russia starts questioning the territorial integrity of Syria

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said they do not know whether or not they can protect the territorial integrity of Syria.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov made a striking statement about the territorial integrity of Syria. While Russia strictly spoke of territorial integrity so far, Ryabkov said Russia is questioning this matter at the moment.

According to Interfax news agency, Ryabkov spoke to Deutsche Welle radio and said “We do not know if things will develop in a way that will end up in a Syria as a single country”.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had said the followings on 27 November 2017; “We consider Syria’s territorial integrity an absolute necessity. For now, nobody claims to act against this principle and I hope they won’t.”

The latest comment by Ryabkov came as the Turkish state has invaded Afrin, the Damascus regime has taken Ghouta and US-France-England carried out air strikes on some targets in Syria on April 14.
