YPG (People's Defense Units) Media Center released a statement reporting ongoing attacks by the Turkish army and gang groups on the lands of Rojava.
The statement by YPG reads:
"On February 7, 2017, Turkish army started works for a road construction on the border of the Silipkıran village to the east of Kobanê. During the same day, gang groups attacked Efrîn's Maranaz village with mortars on the instruction of the Turkish troops. During the night, gangs attacked the village of Maranez and Willa Qadi with TOW missiles. In the morning of February 8, gangs attacked the Willa Qadi village with mortars.
During the same hours, Turkish soldiers launched an aggression from Derik side and a panzer of Turkish military invaded Rojava land by crossing the border into the village of Habil Hawa at 17:00 in the evening. The response of our forces made the Turkish soldiers cross back to the Northern Kurdistan side of the border.
On February 9, an UAV of the Turkish military conducted intense activities over the Minix and Willa Qadi villages of Efrîn."
