Police blocked members of the Association of Free Students of Dicle University (DÜÖ-DER) joining a tour to Diyarbakır's Lice district on Saturday.

After stopping the group at a control point on Silvan way, police detained 13 students and DIHA (Dicle News Agency) reporter at the scene, Sabriye Duman.

The students have reportedly been taken into custody upon demand by the public prosecutor of Diyarbakır. Detainees have been taken to the police directorate.

Other students joining the tour have started a march to Lice in protest against the detentions.
