Fourteen people have been remanded in custody in Malazgirt district of Muş and Çaldıran district of Van on Wednesday.

In Malazgirt district of Muş, 6 people were taken into custody and referred to court after bearing testimony at police headquarters yesterday on the grounds of having joined demonstrations in solidarity with the Kobanê resistance. All six detainees were remanded in custody and sent to Muş E Type Closed Prison for allegedly “being member to a terrorist organization”, “damaging public property” and “resisting to police”.

On the other hand, four more people have been detained by police in the district today.

Eight other people were taken into custody in an expansive house-raid operation in Çaldıran district of Van early Wednesday morning. The eight were sent to Van F Type Closed Prison after being accused of “being member to a terrorist organization”.
