Ceylanpınar Public Prosecution Office launched an investigation into the allegations of smuggling activities in Urfa's Ceylanpınar district. The investigation concluded that a large number of goods smuggled in Syria were brought into Turkey with the help of soldiers at the border Ateşoğlu Infantry Command.
Units affiliated to Ceylanpınar district gendarme command raided and searched the military post early on Thursday morning. 14 soldiers were taken into custody for conniving at smuggling activities in the region. Gendarme units also seized many mobile phones and sim cards.
