14th edition of the 4 April Culture and Sports Festival kicks off in Maxmur Camp

Organized on the occasion of Leader Abdullah Öcalan's birthday, the 14th edition of the 4 April Culture and Sports Festival started in Maxmur Camp.

The annual 4 April Culture and Sports Festival organised to mark the occasion of Leader Abdullah Abdullah Öcalan's birthday kicked off in Martyr Rüstem Cudi (Maxmur) Refugee Camp.

This year, the 4 April festival started with the participation of hundreds of primary, secondary and high school students. Before the opening of the festival, teacher Cemil Kara made a short statement.

He said that “the Culture and Sports Festival is held every year on the occasion of 4 April, the birthday of Leader Öcalan. This year, we continue this tradition. We will start our festival with football matches and we will continue until 4 April. We dedicate this festival to Leader Öcalan, the heroic guerrilla on the mountain and our struggling people.”

Kara added that “4 April is a very important day for the Kurdish people. Because it is the birthday of all Kurdish people.”

After the statement, the festival kicked off with a football tournament.
