17 members of the ESP (Socialist Party of the Oppressed) were taken into custody as result of an expansive operation in Istanbul early Wednesday morning.

While a number of addresses in Gaziosmanpaşa, Sultangazi, Sancaktepe and Eyüp districts were targeted in the operation, police also raided the ESP Sancaktepe office, seizing some banners and a computer.

The operation has reportedly been carried out upon an instruction by Gaziosmanpaşa Court of First Instance.
