26th day in Strasbourg: Busy visits and preparations for actions
Preparations continue in Strasbourg for the great march tomorrow to protest the Paris murders, of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez.
As the hunger strike against the isolation continues on day 26 in Strasbourg, preparations are being made in the city and neighboring cities for the great march in Paris on Saturday.
The indefinite and non-alternate hunger strike launched with the demand to end the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan continues with great resolve on the 26th day.
CONCERNS FOR HUNGER STRIKERS’ HEALTH
In the hunger strike by 14 people including former HDP MP Dilek Ocalan, some hunger strikers have started to show symptoms that could be risky for their health in the future.
Dr. Fahrettin Gulsen is monitoring the hunger strikers’ health in situ, and had reported that some among them had lost excessive amounts of weight and fluctuations in their bloodwork, as well as extreme sensitivity to light and sound, which were all concerning.
ARRIVALS TO STRASBOURG FROM VARIOUS CITIES
Arrivals to Strasbourg from various cities to support the hunger strike continue. A group of Kurdistanis from Dortmund and Essen, Germany visited the hunger strike to show support today.
In a speech made in the name of the groups from Dortmund and Essen, the speakers called for awareness for the hunger strikes.
Another group from Lyon, France arrived in Strasbourg to support the hunger strikers.
Kurds in the Grand Est region visit the hunger strikers daily to show support.
HUNDREDS FLOCKED ON THE 25TH DAY
Hundreds of people visited the hunger strikers on the 25th day yesterday, with groups coming from Mannheim, Stuttgart, Heilbronn, Freiburg, Offenburg and Kehl in Germany and Paris and Selestat in France.
Artis Dogan Dogan and local artist Rezan visited the hunger strikers in Strasbourg as well. A short concert was held where artists sang revolutionary songs.
The hunger strikers are covered daily by Sterk TV and Medya News, and Aryen TV and Ronahi TV have broadcast specials from the hunger strikes.
TOMORROW IN PARIS
Preparations continue in Strasbourg for the great march tomorrow to protest the Paris murders, of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez. Buses will leave from Strasbourg, Mulhouse and Saint Avold starting tonight at 23:00 and a group of hunger strikers will go to Paris tomorrow to represent the demonstration in the march.
