34 gang members killed in clashes in Çelexa
Western Kurdistan's People's Defense Units (YPG) has released a written statement about clashes with radical Islamist ISIS (the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham) and al-Nusra Front in Çelexa region, of Girke Legê province, on Tuesday.
YPG said that 34 members of the gang groups were killed in severe clashes yesterday afternoon.
YPG remarked that the gang groups suffered heavy losses following the attacks they carried out after long-continued preparations. YPG said their fighters strongly responded to the attacks and repulsed the gang groups from Sefa where they had managed to reach yesterday.
The statement noted that YPG Military Council member Zehreddin Eli and one YPG fighter, Hawar Efrin code-named Keder Ehmed, have also lost their life in clashes in Çelexa yesterday evening.
YPG added that clashes are continuing in the regions of Serekaniye and Gire Spi (Tal Abyad) which have been targeted by artillery shootings of the gang groups today.
