4 people have been formally arrested in connection with the lift disaster at the Mecidiyeköy Residence building site in Istanbul on Saturday, which left 10 workers dead.

Adem Akyıldız, Turgay Dalgıç, Önder Türksoy and Murat Aytimur went to the court to answer charges relating to the disaster which resulted in the death of 10 workers. After bearing testimony, the four were remanded in custody by the third criminal court of peace for "negligently causing the death of more than one person".
