14 Kurdish activists who were on an indefinite hunger strike against Abdullah Öcalan's isolation in Strasbourg for 161 days have been examined by French emergency physicians after ending their action upon the Kurdish leader’s call conveyed through his lawyers.

Four of the activists, Ekrem Yapıcı, Kardo Bokani, Ramazan Imir and Mohamed Ghaderi have been taken to hospital with complaints that require medical attention.

The hunger strike, which began on December 17, 2018 was joined by Gulistan Ike, Nurgül Başaran, Dilek Öcalan, Mustafa Sarıkaya, Mehmet Nimet Sevim, Deniz Sürgüt, Agit Ural, Yüksel Koç, Mohamed Ghaderi, Ekrem Yapıcı, Ayvaz Ece, Kardo Bokani, Ramazan Imir and Kerem Solhan.
