A new wave of repression has been initiated against members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) ahead of the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for June 24.

Istanbul police conducted raids on several houses this morning and targeted executives and members of the HDP.

At least 7 people have been taken into custody in the operation so far, including HDP former MP for Bursa and Party Assembly member Asiye Kolçak.

While the reason for detentions was not disclosed, the detainees were taken to the Istanbul Police Department.
