Another death in Siirt
As demonstrations for Kobanê are continuing in Siirt, a man wounded in an armed attack by village guards and petrol station owners has died.
Village guards and owners of the Kaymaz Petrol station had opened fire on demonstrators for Kobanê on Wednesday, wounding two people, Zeki Ceylan and Kamuran Yılmaz, wounded, confirmed IHD (Human Rights Association) Siirt branch chair Zana Aksu.
Aksu noted that Kamuran Taş who was remaining in critical condition since the incident has passed away this morning.
IHD Siirt branch chair also stated that long-barreled weapons and real bullets have been used much more often than tear gas in the last three days of clashes across the city. Aksu added that four people who have lost their lives in Siirt have all been kiled with real bullets.
In Kurtalan district, two people were killed by the AKP Mayor and his family members, while a 17-year-old youth was murdered by police during the conflict.
Denying some Turkish media reports that "a man lowering the Turkish flag was killed by the owner of the workplace", Aksu underlined that; "These are reports provided by police with an aim to cover up the fact that the people were killed by village guards. Nobody should believe these reports for these people were deliberately targeted by village guards."
