Bijî Serok Apo, chant activists in Berlin

Despite the ban issued by the Berlin Administration against Abdullah Öcalan, the crowd chanted ‘Bijî Serok Apo’ (‘Long Live President Apo’).

Thousands of people marched in Berlin from Alexanderplatz to Kreuzberg, to mark the 25th anniversary of the German government’s ban issued against the PKK.

Activists protested the German state's policy of criminalisation against the Kurdish freedom struggle, as well as the ban on the PKK.

Activists also ignored the ban issued against Kurdish People's leader Abdullah Öcalan and kept shouting slogans like ‘Bijî Serok Apo’.

A group of police stopped the march and attacked the demonstrators. While the police detained at least three demonstrators, activists made sure to prevent any provocation.
