After battles between protesters and police, children are attempting to collect and sell the gas canisters that have killed and maimed so many, according to a report in Özgür Gündem.  

The children, often from poor families, hope to sell the capsules as scrap metal in order to earn a small amount of money. The photograph above was taken of children after protests in Nusaybin against the “wall of shame” last week.
