Clashes continue in Sinjar

People’s Defence Forces (HPG) and Sinjar Resistance Units (YBŞ) Commands have reported in a joint statement that 5 ISIS gang members were killed in Sinjar in the clashes of last 24 hours.

People’s Defence Forces (HPG) and Sinjar Resistance Units (YBŞ) Commands have reported in a joint statement that 5 ISIS gang members were killed  in Sinjar in the clashes of last 24 hours. 

The statement said the guerrilla forces launched an attack on the gangs in Xeyr Nasır neighbourhood on 10 March at 14:30, leaving 2 gang members dead, while 2 other gang members were killed in two targeted attacks of guerrillas in the same neighbourhood at between 15:00-16:00 and 22:00-23:00.

The statement further reported another attack of the guerrilla forces launched on the gang groups in Suka Jer neighbourhood at 16:00, 10 March left 1 gang member dead.

HPG and YBŞ also reported that this morning guerrilla forces launched another attack on the vehicles of the gangs in the Suka Jer neighbourhood, damaging the vehicles while the number of the casualties could not be clarified.

In the meantime, reports are coming through that the clashes have intensified in Sinjar as the guerrilla and peshmerga forces strongly responded to an attack of the ISIS gangs with bomb-laden vehicles. It is also reported that the gangs set the houses in Hey Nasr neighbourhood on fire while fleeing away in the face of the threat of air strikes.
 

The clashes are reportedly continuing while the international coalition forces are carrying out flights over the city.
