Clashes continue on two fronts of Kobanê
YPG (People's Defense Units) Press Centre has reported in today's statement about the ongoing fighting in Kobanê that the attacks of ISIS gangs aiming to occupy the town continued on the 69th day.
YPG Press Centre stated that ISIS gangs were preparing for new attacks with the ammunition and weapon reinforcements brought in from Raqqa and many other regions.
The statement said that short-time battle raged out between YPG units and gang groups on the eastern front where 2 gang members were killed, 3 other were wounded and a vehicle of theirs was destroyed.
According to the YPG Press Centre, 4 members of the gangs were killed in offensives that have targeted the gang groups positioned in the Medcene region in south-west Kobanê, and are still continuing.
ISIS groups deployed around the villages of Mineza, Izea and Aliplur, who carried out mortar attacks targeting the city centre, were responded with heavy weapons.
The statement said one fighter of the YPG was martryed in yesterday's clashes.
Operation in Serêkaniyê continuing
Also providing information about the ongoing operation in Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ayn), YPG Press Centre said the military campaign initiated by YPG units in the South and Southeast of the city is continuing.
According to the statement, YPG have expanded its area of activity across a larger region and are continuing in their attacks against ISIS groups.
The statement said YPG units repelled two attempted car bomb attacks of ISIS gangs targeting two separate points near the village of Menacir early today. Noticed before reaching the target, both vehicles were blown up by YPG fighters, and 2 members of the gangs were killed. 2 YPG fighters and 2 civilians were also wounded in the attack after which YPG units conducted an offensive against a position of the gangs, killing at least one member of theirs dead.
Village of Hireşiyê cleansed of gangs
YPG Press Centre also stated that ISIS gangs carried out an attack on the village of Samiriyê to the south-west of Til Koçer after infiltrating into the region from the Iraqi border.
Clashes broke out and got heavier for during the next hours as YPG units responded to the attack. One gang member who attempted a suicide attack was shot dead by YPG fighters who also killed 6 members of the gangs, wounded 3 others and seized an armored vehicle belonging to them in clashes.
After repelling the attack, YPG forces cleansed and liberated the village of Hireşiyê which is located to the south of the Samiriyê village.
One YPG fighter who played an important role in the repulsion of the ISIS attack was martyred in clashes in this region.
