Court to decide on Hatip Dicle on Monday
The board of Diyarbakır 6th High Criminal Court has stated that the decision on Hatip Dicle would be made next Monday.
Early today, Dicle's lawyers applied to the court demanding the release of the Kurdish deputy who has been jailed for four and a half years in the scope of the so-called KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) case. Dicle is accused of spreading propaganda for a terrorist organization.
Should the Kurdish deputy be released, as is expected by his lawyers, his release could be followed by that of hundreds of other KCK detainees jailed for more than four years- in line with the recently made legal arrangements on lengthy detentions and trials.
