Gendarmerie special operation teams and armored vehicles have been dispatched to Yenişehir district of Amed at midnight.

The troops will reportedly be deployed at critical points across the main Kurdish city. The military convoy which arrived the city from the Elazığ road also includes armored vehicles.

In the meantime, the Governor of Amed has also declared curfew from 22:00 today to 7:00 Wednesday morning following two days of mass protests that turned violent as a result of brutal crackdown police staged on demonstrators across the city.

The curfew was ordered for the districts of Bağlar, Kayapınar, Sur, Yenişehir and the outer districts of Bismil, Silvan and Lice “in order to reassure the security and the order deteriorated by the violence actions”.

The statement issued by the governor noted that the decision will be re-considered at the end of the announced period in line with the present situation.

On the other hand, tension remains high in the city following the attacks of Hüda-Par members on the demonstrations organized in protest against the attacks of ISIS gangs on Kobanê.

Three people, Turan Yavaş, Riyad Güneş and Hasan Göksöz, were killed in an armed attack launched on Köy-Der, an association with close relations with Hüda-Par. The armed attack on the office of the association has also left 13 people wounded, including one seriously.

Websites close to the Hizbullah movement alleged that the 3 people were killed by the groups staging the Kobanê protests.
