Demirtaş prevented to visit Imrali by government
It has been learned that the government has prevented BDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş from going to visit Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan together with the two other member of the BDP delegation, deputies Pervin Buldan and İdris Baluken.
It is understood that Demirtaş has been obstaculated because of his remarks about the so called "democratization package" presented by Prime Minister Erdoğan on 30 September.
Demirtaş had said that the package clearly showed no will on the part of the government to genuinely work for a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue. Indeed, he added, the package show there was no process at all.
The government had already shown its vindictive actitude towards those BDP deputies who criticize its policies. After the role played by BDP Istanbul deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder in the Gezi Park resistance, for example, he too was prevented from going to visit the Kurdish leader.
