Events continue all around the world following the call of the Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Campaign Committee for participation in the Global Days of Events from 15 to 22 June 2024, "Dialogue with Öcalan – you can’t imprison ideas!"
In this scope, ‘Dialogue with Abdullah Öcalan’ event was held in São Paulo, Brazil. In the event at Campinas State University (Unicamp), the topic "Voices of the Kurdish Revolution: Democratic Confederalism, Women's Movements and Jineolojî" was discussed. More than 50 people participated in the discussion moderated by students via live broadcast. The ideas of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and their practical implementation in the Middle East were discussed. It was emphasised that Abdullah Öcalan's current condition is illegal and inhumane.
Many students asked how the ideas of Democratic Confederalism could be applied in Brazil, referring to democratic experiences in Brazil in the past and the present. The Quimbolos community (Afro-descendant), indigenous territories in resistance and land occupations by farmers and their families were also discussed.
