The DTK, HDP and DBP delegation has completed its visit to Rojava and returned to North Kurdistan. At a meeting with the authorities of the Cizire (Jazireh) Democratic Autonomous Administration, the members of the delegation drew attention to the importance of common mechanisms amongst the Kurds.
The delegation visiting Rojava after South Kurdistan was composed of DTK co-chair Selma Irmak, HDP co-chairs Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag, HDP Mardin deputy Erol Dora, HDP Van deputy Nazmi Gur, co-chair of the European Yezidi Confederation Leyla Ferman and Mardin co-mayor Ahmet Turk, and BDP Hewler representatives Cemal Cosgun and Silan Eminoglu.
In Rojava, the delegation first visited Newroz Camp, where refugees from Sinjar are accommodated.
Following a visit to Xebat Derik Cemetery, the delegation later on passed to the health centre where the YPG and YPJ fighters wounded in clashes with ISIS are treated. Having chatted with the injured fighters here, the delegation departed for the city of Girke Derik.
Meeting the co-presidents of the Cizire Canton, Himedi El-Deham and Hediye Yusiv in Girke Derik, the delegation then went to Amude ('Adaniya) where they held a meeting with the members of the legislative assembly of the Cizire Democratic Autonomous Administration.
Following the meeting at the building of the prime ministry, the delegation and the executives from Rojava held a joint press conference.
Speaking first at the conference, Ahmet Turk pointed to the importance of national unity, adding that the importance of the organization of the national congress and the building of national unity has been proved once again by the attacks of ISIS.
Cizire Canton co-president Ekrem Hiso thanked the delegation for their support for the Rojava Revolution and for their efforts for the building of national unity. “the Rojava revolution is not only a political and military revolution but at the same time a revolution of women and an economical revolution. The Kurdish people have achieved important gains through the Rojava revolution, and these gains are for sure not only the gains of the people of Rojava but gains for all the Kurdish people living in the four parts of Kurdistan. We find the efforts for the building of national unity very meaningful and declare here that as the authorities in Rojava we will until the end support these efforts”, said Hiso.
DTK co-chair Selma Irmak said they will continue to work for the building of a dialogue process and common mechanisms amongst the Kurds, adding that the Kurds could face even harsher situations if they fail to build national unity.
Following the press conference the delegation returned to North Kurdistan via the town of Dirbesiye.
