Of 13 people who had been taken into custody the day before in the western province of İzmir, 11 were remanded in custody for joining Gezi protests.

Two of the detainees were released by the prosecutor, while eleven others were arrested by a court late Wednesday.

Among those remanded in custody are Tekstil-Sen union's İzmir Branch Chair Seyithan Korkmaz and ESP (Socialist Party of the Oppressed) İzmir provincial co-chair Pınar Türk.
