Enver Müslim: We will step up Kobanê resistance
While the Kobanê resistance against the attacks of ISIS enters its 8th day, all the people in Kobanê, including primarily the canton authorities and not only YPG/YPJ fighters are at the front.
The prime minister of the Kobanê Canton, Enver Muslim, denied the allegations that the people of Kobane have fled and said the people are at the front fighting together with YPG and YPJ fighters against the attacks of ISIS. He said all the people in Kobanê of all ages are taking part in the resistance, adding: “We will step up our resistance with all the people, women and youth. And we will win”.
"The war we pursue is a long-term war. All the people in Kobanê of all ages are ready here to fight", Muslim said and stressed that they have prepared themselves for a long war to fight first against ISIS, but later on against forces greater than it.
Muslim added that: "This huge resistance of the youth of Kobane will historically be recorded. I lack the words to tell of the bravery of the YPG fighters. They continue the tradition of Emir Han, Sheikh Said, Ihsan Nuri, Qazi Muhammed, Melle Mustafa, Mazlum Doğan and Kemal Pir, who took their honourable places in Kurdish history with their heroic acts."
Calling attention to the international powers behind the war in Kobanê, Muslim said: "But, despite everything, the winner will be Kobane. We will definitely not leave Kobane. We will grow our resistance with our people, women and youth".
The prime minister of the Kobanê Canton also criticized some other Kurdish forces which are not giving support to the canton at the moment, adding that all forces must offer practical help rather than declaring support with statements.
Muslim further drew attention to the deal of the international forces reached in Paris, and said "In the deal, it was said that ISIS would target not only Rojava but the whole Middle East and the world, and an agreement was reached on an intervention against ISIS. Now ISIS has launched a large scale offensive on Kobanê, why are they not supporting us? What is needed must be done before it proves to be too late. This is why all the states making the deal and declaring ISIS as the enemy, USA, France, Britain, Russia, Turkey, must practically support the YPG. We have to cleanse the region and the whole Middle East from ISIS in order to live in peace and fraternity in this world."
