ESP Leader goes on hunger strike in solidarity with MP Guven

ESP Leader Cicek Otlu and Ercis Mayor Diba Keskin, held in the Ankara Sincan Closed Women’s Prison, have started a 10-day hunger strike.

Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) Leader Cicek Otlu, held in the Ankara Sincan Closed Women’s Prison, announced that she is going on a 10-day hunger strike in support for the hunger strike Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari MP Leyla Guven started to protest the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan and to demand his freedom.

“GUVEN IS NOT ALONE”

Otlu spoke to her relatives yesterday and said she and Van Ercis Co-mayor Diba Keskin are starting a 10-day hunger strike. Otlu said, “Leyla Guven is right, we embrace the demand that the isolation be lifted. To give strength to this dignified stand, we started a 10-day hunger strike on her 50th day. This demand must be accepted for the free and equal life of our peoples of diverse ethnicities and faiths together in fraternity. Leyla Guven is not alone.”
