Fighting in Kobanê continues for the 63rd day
YPG (People's Protection Units) Press Centre said in today's statement about the ongoing fighting in Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, that ISIS attacks aiming to occupy the town continued for the 63rd day.
According to the statement, YPG/YPJ fighters continue their offensives against the gangs who are getting more disappointed every day in the hope and intention to enter and capture Kobanê.
The press release remarked that YPG forces have carried out small scale offensives against gang groups in the Sukul Hal, Azadi Square and Municipality Street areas, killing at least 5 members of theirs in the fighting on the eastern front.
The statement said YPG forces on the other hand continued their search and surveillance activities in the areas liberated from the ISIS on the southern front of the town the day before. Large quantities of ammunition belonging to the gangs and corpses of five militants of theirs were found and seized during the search and surveillance activities.
The YPG Press Centre also reported that seven gang members were killed in separate actions carried out by YPG fighters against the gang groups around the villages of Minaze and Izea to the west of Kobanê yesterday.
