Work continues for the Newroz celebration to be held in the city of Izmir. A public meeting was held at the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) office in the neighbourhood of Konak Çimentepe.

The meeting was attended by a large crowd and HDP İzmir Deputy Murat Çepni invited the citizens to Newroz. After the public meeting, the first Newroz halay (dance) was performed and the first fire was lit in front of the party’s office.
