Five suspects released in Hrant Dink case

A Turkish court has released five suspects tried in the case of slain Armenian journalist Hrant Dink.

The hearing in the case of Agos Newspaper Chief Editor Hrant Dink who was killed in front of his office in Istanbul on January 19, 2007, continued at Istanbul 14th Heavy Penal Court on Friday.

Suspects in the murder of the Armenian journalist include Istanbul former chief of police Celalettin Cerrah, Istanbul former police chief of intelligence Ahmet İlhan Güler, police intelligence branch directors Ramazan Akyürek and Sabri Uzun, former Trabzon Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Ali Öz.

After the statements of the suspects, the penal of judges asked for the release of jailed suspects Bekir Yokuş, Ecevit Emir, Emre Cingöz, Hacin Şerif Şimşek and Şeref Ateş.

All the five suspects have been released by the court.
