Five villages liberated, 20 gang members killed in Makhmur

Makhmur Resistance Units released a statement announcing the outcomes of the operation they launched on Thursday evening and ended on Friday in order to cleanse the Mahkmur region of ISIS gangs.

The statement informed that Makhmur Resistance Units and peshmerga carried out a joint operation against ISIS gangs deployed in five villages of the Mahkmur town.

The villages of Lecheka, Mahmudiye, Xırbanê, Reshidiye and Fatıma were taken from the gangs as a result of the operation carried out by HPG/YJA STAR guerrillas and peshmerga fighters.

20 gang members were killed, large quantities of ammunition were seized and many military vehicles were destroyed in the joint operation by Kurdish forces.

The statement also said that three guerrillas lost their lives in the clashes and gave the following details about the three fighters of the Resistance Units;

- Filiz Şaybak from Van, code-name Avesta Harun Fırat, member of YJA STAR

- Ramazan Akar from Hakkari, code-name Siyabend Zap

- Hasan Budak, code-name Diyar Şerewi.

Makhmur Resistance Units ended the statement by promising once again to remain loyal to the memory of the martyrs, to follow their path and to resist up to the end against any kind of danger and attack targeting Kurdistan.
