French Communist Party member visits hunger strikers for Öcalan

An executive of the French Communist Party visited the hunger strikers for Öcalan in Strasbourg.

Yasmin Chadlie of the French Communist Party (PCF) paid a solidarity visit to the activists joining the indefinite and non-alternate hunger strike in Strasbourg who demand an end to the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan by the Turkish state.

Chadlie highlighted the importance of raising the international solidarity, saying; “Our party has made a statement on the subject. Our primary emphasis was that France must condemn and end relations with Erdoğan. Our second emphasis was that PKK must be removed from the list of terrorist organizations.”

The French politician expressed their support and solidarity with the hunger strike and added: “During the onslaught on Afrin, we had formed a collective which held press conferences and public meetings to create awareness. We will revive this platform and try to offer our best support on this matter as well. Our parliamentarians will continue to keep solidarity with Kurds on the agenda. Our struggle for human rights continues. We also state that we demand freedom for Öcalan.”
