French police on Thursday stormed the Democratic Kurdish Community Centre in Drancy, a northeastern suburb of Paris.
Initial reports say that the search in the premises of the association continues and a member of the Drancy Kurdish Community Centre has been taken into custody.
A short statement in the name of Drancy Kurdish Community Centre said that a raid of this kind by the French police was incomprehensible and unacceptable, calling for an immediate end to the criminalization of the Kurdish people and their institutions.
The statement called on the Kurds living in Drancy to stand with the association.
