Clashes between People's Defense Units (YPG) and al-Qaeda linked ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) are going on in the Efrin city of west Kurdistan for two days.  

A Kurdish civilian, Ehmed Esed Musa Xubari from the Cilbirê village, has reportedly been executed by the gang groups which have also attacked the villages of Merkemin and Mereske but had to withdraw from the region in the face of the strong response by YPG fighters.

Clashes broke out after the gang groups attacked the Cilbirê village of Şêrawa district on Sunday and lasted till early Monday morning.

In a new operation launched after the attack, YPG fighters seized a control point of the armed groups. Many militants of the gangs have reportedly been killed in clashes with YPG fighters.

YPJ (Women's Defense Units) fighter Avesta Cotyar code-named Raperin Eli, born in Efrin in 1992, has reportedly lost her life in Sunday's clashes.
