German Greens Party pays solidarity visit to the HDP in Cologne

Berivan Aymaz and Frank Jablowski from the German Greens Party paid a solidarity visit to the HDP election office in Cologne.

Berivan Aymaz from NRW Greens Party and Cologne Greens Party chairperson Frank Jablowski have visited the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) election office in Cologne on Wednesday.

Welcoming the Greens politicians, HDP Cologne Election Platform members told about the election atmosphere in Turkey, election works in Cologne and security of elections in general.

Aymaz stated that the June 24 election was considered to be very important in Germany and recalled that they had supported the HDP in previous elections of 7 June and 1 November 2015.

“During that period, our Co-chair Cem Özdemir visited Mr. Demirtaş to Germany and facilitated his meeting with the Foreign Minister. Cem Özdemir is the deputy brother of Demirtaş. Our parliamentary group chair Toni Hofreid is the deputy brother of HDP MP Mithat Sancar.”

Aymaz of the Greens continued; “Our party is supporting the HDP in this election as well, and our party will publish a statement of solidarity with the HDP, which will also include a call for the freedom of Mr. Selahattin Demirtaş.”
