German police ban march calling for lifting of PKK ban

The German police have banned a march in Cologne supported by 84 organisations calling for the lifting of the ban on the PKK.

The march, that was to have taken place on 6 December in Cologne, has been banned on the grounds that businesses  would be adversely affected at a time when people are doing Christmas shopping.

The organisers of the march are expected to make a statement regarding the ban tomorrow morning at 11.30 at the Kurdish Culture Association in Cologne.
