Peoples’ Democratic Party Co-Chair Serpil Kemalbay released a statement condemning yesterday’s terror attack in Barcelona, for which ISIS claimed responsibility.

The statement by HDP Co-chair is as follows:

“Another ISIS attack has targeted civilians and the universal values of humanity in Barcelona.  As we condemn this boundless, inhumane attack with severe consequences, which killed 13 people and wounded 100, in the strongest terms. We share the pain of the peoples of Spain with the most sincere feelings.

The states that have supported and are still supporting ISIS and similar groups have a great responsibility in the fact that these groups can attack with such comfort in so many countries. We stress the significance of fostering stronger solidarity with those fighting against ISIS and similar-minded entities that commit crimes against humanity from Beirut to Reyhanlı, from Suruç to Paris, from Baghdad to Kobanê and Raqqa, from Tunisia to Ankara.

We express our strong solidarity and once again convey our deepest sadness and sympathy to the peoples of Spain and victims who have suffered from the Barcelona assault.”
