Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chair Selahattin Demirtas has been acquitted in the case opened against him for allegedly insulting Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.

Demirtaş was standing trial for saying the following to Minister Soylu before June 7, 2015 elections; “You have gathered three thousand people around you and you are touring the cities one by one to deceive the peple”.

The hearing in the case was held at Ankara 10th Penal Court of First Instant on Wednesday.
