HDP to make statement regarding process tomorrow

HDP Group Chair Pervin Buldan has said the Imrali delegation will hold a press conference in the Turkish Parliament tomorrow, at which they will call for the process of resolution suspended by the government to be resumed.

Buldan recalled that following the 6-7 October Kobanê protests the government announced it was suspending the process, saying dialogue had ground to a halt. She stressed the government had also said it was possible the process would remain in suspension if incidents broke out during the rallies on 1 November. Buldan said: "Yesterday we saw that people protested in a democratic way, showing solidarity with Kobanê, and that no one even had a nosebleed. We all wanted yesterday’s events to pass off peacefully without any trouble. We therefore believe that the government’s grounds no longer pertain, and that it is necessary for dialogue to resume in order for the process of resolution to advance.”

Buldan said that at tomorrow’s press conference they would say it was necessary for meetings to take place with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan as soon as possible, and for the process of resolution to be removed from suspension so that it could get back on track.

Pervin Buldan said that they would ask for a meeting with the government after the press conference, and apply for a meeting with Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
